If I was stranded on an island and I had to choose one fruit tree to grow on the island I would definitely choose an apple tree.
Apples are not only my favorite fruit, they are one of my favorite foods in general. They are easy to eat, very versatile and absolutely delicious.
I have recently discovered W shares my love for apples as well. No surprise there, really.
We often eat apples together even though W usually ends up in tears.
He doesn’t quite understand that you can’t eat the core.
Since we are getting ready for the approaching Fall season (read about my Fall To-Do List), I have decided to share one of my favorite, easy, apple recipes that your baby will love just as much as you!
Cinnamon Apple Fries are the perfect snack. I was a little nervous to give W apples when he first started learning to eat (Read about How the Baby Demanded Baby Led Weaning) since there’s a risk for baby to bite off a big, choking-hazard piece.
When you bake apples, however, they are the perfect texture for babies still learning to chew. The fry-shape is also great for babies who haven’t quite mastered the pincher grasp.
Finally, my Cinnamon Apple Fries have an added bonus for the Good Family- no crying over the core.
Take a look at my recipe below.
Cinnamon Apple Fries
Ingredients
- 1 or 2 apples (I used granny smith apples)
- cinnamon, to taste
- a stick of butter, to spread
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Spread a thin layer of butter on a baking sheet to prevent sticking.
- Peel apple(s) and cut them into fry-shape.
- Spread a thin layer of butter on each apple stick.
- Toss the apple sticks with some cinnamon in a bowl.
- Line them up on the baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, depending on the thickness.

I have to try these! Perfect and great way to enjoy a little sweet with all the savory football dishes!
What a great idea! My 18 month old LOVES apples and while she has sort of mastered the art of gnawing at them, she still tends to spit out the skin….all of the place! She would adore these and I wouldn’t have to worry about her choking or spitting apple bites on the floor!

I usually just peel an apple and slice it (cutting out the upsetting core of course)! C was old enough for this approach around 14 or 15 months. Also if you throw the apple slices in the freezer for five minutes they can help sore teeth!
What a yummy idea! My daughter would LOVE these!!! Pinning so I dont forget! (who me.. forget??) 😉

That sounds yummy. I’m only a baby sometimes, but I think I’ll try these!! Adorable pictur of W and the big apple.
I love apples too! I guess I’m out of the norm in that I usually do eat the core though, haha. (Stuck with me after being a science camp counselor and joining the “hardcore club,” heh heh heh).
Thanks for sharing this recipe! I legit did a happy dance in my chair when I saw “cinnamon apple fries” in the linkup. 😛

W is adorable with his apple. I feel sad that he can’t have his core though.
I love this recipe. FYI- I’m reading a book that says Granny Smith are very nutritious. Gala also. Golden Delicious not so much.
Is the texture for these apple fries chewy?
Ann Marie- haha After I posted this he went and ate an apple and almost ate the entire core! He is very persistent! It depends on how your bake them and how thin you slice them. It’s a little hard to describe the texture. They are slightly chewy.
There is an apple tree farm near us in Mansfield that has the yummiest yellow apples. I cant wait to go apple picking in September. Anyone want to join me?

Thanks for sharing your ideas! There are, however, some
disadvantages when it comes to clinic. Once I was a school student, I wondered how one needs to tackle
this matter but I’d constantly encounter some funny
replies: go google it or ask a friend. What if my friends don’t have sufficient knowledge or experience to assist me?
Imagine when I googled it multiple times and could not locate the answer?
That is when posts like this one can give proper advice on the issue.
Once again, thank you for your job!
