Today was a magical day.
I somehow managed to get both kids down for a nap at the same time (score!). I then whipped up a batch of tomato sauce, blogged for a few minutes, snuck in a workout AND took a quick power nap myself.
IT. WAS. GLORIOUS!
One of the biggest challenges I have as a new mother of two (beside the lack of sleep) is finding the time to workout. If I manage to get the kids down for a nap at the same time, sometimes all I really want to do is sleep. So, how did I find the time to start dinner, blog, workout and nap?
HIIT workouts to the rescue!
What’s a HIIT workout? If you spend anytime scrolling through the health and fitness section on Pinterest, then I’m sure you’ve come across some examples. HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training. It’s a type of workout that requires you to “give it your all” for a burst of intense exercise, followed by short recovery sessions, that are often active.
If you want an exercise that’s the best bang for your buck, then HIIT is for you. I can do a HIIT workout anywhere and anytime. I can even do it with a toddler running circles around me.

Good and simple workout routine!
I’ve never been good at working out at home – I have to go to the gym, yoga studio, etc. I went to yoga yesterday afternoon and then stayed home with my dog watching Ryan Seacrest 🙂
