Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday, but like Halloween, it’s a great excuse for fun crafts and games for the kids. Oh, and chocolate too.
With my trusty laminator (seriously, you need to buy one of these things), I made a simple matching game for my toddler. You can use the cards for a game of memory for older toddlers or just a matching game for younger toddlers.
Valentine’s Day Family-Matching Game for Toddlers
One of my favorite activities to do with W is read books. It’s so important and it’s a great time for us to bond. One thing I’ve noticed is that he loves to assign our family to characters of every book. There’s the mommy, the daddy, and the W. Sometimes he’ll include his baby sister. He does it to all different characters, including animals, people and even trucks. Since he likes to group characters up by family, I thought a family-matching game would be so much fun for him.
Valentine’s Day is all about love, and what greater love is there than between parents and their children?
What you’ll need:
- Free printable
- Laminator (optional)
How to make it:
- Print out the Family-Matching Card game. Cut out hearts.
- Laminate if you wish or play away! *If you don’t have a laminator, you could also use contact paper to cover the cards or even clear packaging tape.
- Enjoy!
BONUS! I’ve included a bonus Valentine’s Day printable activity sheet as well. Play Tic-Tac-Toe, Color-match or decorate the heart.
These are so cute!! My boys love matching games and I know they would especially love matching the sharks. 🙂
