I was thrilled to be given the chance to preview Barnes & Nobles’ awesome gift offerings this season with an amazing group of bloggers at the local Barnes & Noble store.
I have a thing for Barnes & Noble.
I seriously cannot leave the store without wanting to buy EVERYTHING.
A beautiful, leather-bound planner? I need that.
The new Barefoot Contessa cookbook? Uh, I definitely need that.
This adorable board book for W? And, this one… and this one…and that one… and this one… you can’t have enough books, right?
Barnes & Noble is certainly the place to go to buy holiday gifts for your favorite book worm.
After the preview last night though, I realized that I could do all my holiday shopping right at Barnes & Noble with the variety of gift options they offer.
Holiday Gift Ideas
- Nook: Okay, real books are amazing and all, but e-readers offer so much more. They are lightweight, portable (you don’t realize just how heavy books are until you move) and can save you a lot of money. E-books can be up to 40% off in comparison to paperback books.
- Turntable & Vinyls: I bought Good Papa a turntable a few years ago for a birthday and
hewe love it. You just feel cooler when you listen to music on it for some reason. Warning: it may make you feel “cooler,” but I don’t guarantee it’ll actually make you cooler. - Barnes & Nobles Sync Up: Sometimes it’s difficult for me to give books as gifts because I really want to read the book myself. Now I can with the sync up option. Select paperback books come with a free e-book. So, I can give the paperback version as a gift and still read the book on my e-reader. Yeah!
- Educational Games & Toys: Sometime after W was born I stumbled into the Melissa & Doug toy section at Barnes & Noble. How did I not know that they sold toys and games? I have my eye on a cute Melissa & Doug kitchen accessory set for W.
- Throws, Totes & Stocking Stuffers: It’s so nice to curl up under a warm throw with a good book. I just loved the throw that had the beginning lines of a classic book on it. I also thought that this coal candy and snowflake tote were too cute.
- FREE gift wrapping: Did you know that Barnes & Noble offers free gift wrapping year-round? I can’t believe I’m just finding this out! Volunteers come in to help out during the holiday season, so definitely take advantage!
Need help coming up with gift ideas? The Barnes & Noble team is very knowledgeable and willing to help you find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. There’s a gift guide online featuring hand-picked gift ideas. You can even tweet Barnes & Noble using the hashtag #BNGiftTip for personalize advice on gifts.

I love Barnes and Noble too! Real books with real book smell. Yum. (But no slippers there!).
Mary Kay- Yes, it’s a great store. And, they DO have slippers.
Fantastic! I love B&N and am addicted to my Nooks. I even have a Nook glow in the bedroom for when I read at night. I didn’t know about the Sync Up option. I have some family members that still insist on the book. I could give them the book and I could read on Nook. Yeah for me! Is the Discover Weekend at all B&N’s or just in your area?

Michelle- Yes, the Nook is great! I go back and forth between liking ebooks and regular books. The sync up option is new. I think it’s such a great idea! Discovery Weekend is happening at all Barnes and Nobles. It should be a great time.
I wish we had a B&N near us! I didn’t realize they sold all that stuff either. I love the sync-up option! And I want the cable knit throw.

Lauren- Oh, too bad! We have a lot of them around us. They are such great stores. Luckily, you can shop online too!
I could spend forever in a bookstore but they are becoming harder to find. I remember when I could go to one mall and there were 3 different bookstores and now I have to travel 20 min just to find one store.
Free gift wrapping is a major plus because that’s one thing I’m horrible at and everyone makes fun of me for it.
